Isaac Moses Rabinovitch, 90

Isaac Moses Rabinovitch, passed away peacefully on January 6th, 2012 in Alpharetta, GA. He was in his 90th year of life. Mr. Rabinovitch was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ida Evelyn Rabinovitch. He is survived by his daughter, Lori Rabinovitch Barker, Johns Creek, GA; sister, Libby Liquornik, Montreal, Quebec and brothers, Sidney Rabinovitch, Toronto, Ontario and Jerry Rabinovitch, Hallandale, FL. Mr. Rabinovitch was born in Montreal, Quebec in 1922. At age 17, he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army, serving for 6 years with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals at posts in England, France and Belgium. He was returning to Canada when VE was declared on May 8th, 1945. After earning his Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from McGill University, Montreal, Canada in 1951, he and Ida moved to the United States. Mr. Rabinovitch worked for Koppers, ­­­Pittsburgh, PA and Foster Grant, Leominster, MA before joining Esso Chemicals, S.A. which took him and his family to Brussels, Belgium in the mid 1960’s. They lived in Brussels until 1970 when they relocated to the Reading, PA area where Mr. Rabinovitch oversaw the construction and operations of Rilsan Industrials’ new research and production facility. In 1976 he opened General Business Services, offering small business counseling and tax consulting. This was also the year that he and Ida became naturalized citizens of the U.S. Mr. Rabinovitch was active in the Jewish community and served on the board of Kesher Zion Synagogue. He was also an active member of the Rotary Club, leading numerous community improvement projects such as a fund raising operation which purchased an ambulance for a local hospital. Mr. Rabinovitch retired in 1999 after which he and his wife moved to Atlanta, GA to be closer to their daughter, Lori. Mr. Rabinovitch led a rich and loving life. He personified the values of integrity, honor and respect to those around him. He will be greatly missed. Graveside services were held on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Arlington Cemetery with Rabbi Mark Zimmerman officiating. Sign on-line guest book at www.edressler.com.
