Stanley M. Bressler, 85

Stanley M. Bressler, 85, died January 11, 2012. He was born in New Orleans, LA the only son of Sol and Helvena Bressler. He grew up in Bogalusa, LA and moved back to New Orleans to attend Fortier High School. Stanley was confirmed at Touro Synagogue, where his name is on a plaque honoring Jewish war veterans, and has been a member of Temple Sinai for over thirty five years. After Katrina, he moved to Atlanta, GA. Stanley received a Bachelor's of Business Administration from Tulane University. However, his college years were interrupted when he enlisted to serve his country and fight the Nazis. He trained to serve as a Gunner on a fighter plane for the US Naval Air Force during World War II. After graduating from Tulane, Stanley graduated from Harvard Business School. After Harvard, he came back to New Orleans to open a business with his father, Sol, Bell Finance. After selling the business to a commercial bank, Stanley started a second career in real estate and rose to a management position with Stan Weber and later, Prudential Merrill Lynch Realty. Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Judy, and two sons, Richard (Mindi), of Atlanta, GA and Lee (Tamie) of New Orleans, LA and four grandchildren, Daniel, Erin, Rachel and Adam. Funeral was held graveside on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 10AM at Hebrew Rest in New Orleans.
